Make a child’s life sweeter this Valentine’s Day!
Love4Lunch is a simple, fun, and effective fundraiser that culminates on Feb. 14th. The month & weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day are spent spreading the word to your family, neighborhood, and workplace, asking them to participate by either foregoing their Valentine’s Day lunch plans, or donating the equivalent dollar amount to Love4Lunch, for the purpose of providing education to children who would otherwise have none.
Now that’s a SWEET deal!

Here’s how:
- Sign up! by emailing daniellebrower@gmail.com
- Get help! Give us your name & contact info so we can create a personalized flyer for your event that you can copy all over town! Below is a picture of the flyer I’m using to give you an idea of what yours will look like. Also here is a document that contains facts on Swaziland and Valentine’s Day facts, that may come in handy for ya.
- GET EXCITED & SET A GOAL!!! Passion is contagious! Setting a donation goal will also encourage people to give!
- Advertise – Post fliers all over town & give handouts to everyone you meet! Use your resources! Email. Newspaper. Facebook. Twitter. Town Cryer. Big Mouth Friends. You get the idea.
- LUNCH BOX(es) -Make one or more ‘L4L boxes’. See pics for ideas. Put it in a highly visible area by Feb. 10th. Who knows, you may have some people who are too excited to wait til the 14th to give!
- Feb. 13th – REMINDERS! On Feb. 13th, be sure to remind everyone that tomorrow, the 14th is THE day to show & share the love by foregoing lunch, instead giving the funds towards education!

Feb. 14th – Love4Lunch Today’s the Day! Graciously accept donations! People can give cash, coin, and checks (payable to Children’s HopeChest), or can even give online at www.hopechest.org/love4lunch
- Count & report the donation amounts you receive to Danielle Brower. All monies must be reported by the 15th and turned in by Feb. 17th, depending on your location.
What if your peeps don’t want to actually ‘skip’ lunch? No problem! Encourage them to give the equivalent of what they spent on their lunch that day!
For example, if they order a Big Mac & Biggie Fries for $6.00 on the 14th,
they can also put $6 in your Love4Lunch Box!
Here are some pictures of “Love4Lunch Boxes” to give you an idea where to start. All products were bought at Target. If you make your own ‘sweet’ lunch box (Ok, prepare yourself, because I plan to use that ‘sweet’ pun over and over and over til VDay!), email a picture of it and I’ll post it for everyone else to see.
Take a sharpie, add the words "4 Lunch" inside the red heart & you've got yourself a sweet lunch bag to fill!
Step One - Ask your friends to help you eat the chocolate; Step Two - Ask your friends to help fill the box with cash for L4L!!!
Pre-assembled & only $5! You could add the words "Love4Lunch" to complete it.
